Captain Tom Griffin offers
Winter Watch Yacht Services in Anacortes
Do you own a yacht in one of the Anacortes marinas such as Cap Sante, Skyline or Fidalgo? I have been offering my services to owners who are “out of town” clients during the winter months in Anacortes. I provide a once-a-week visit to your yacht, making sure that the effects of winter weather, such as gusting high winds, snow, and freezing temps, are not harming it.

Peace of Mind

As a year-round resident of Anacortes, my service gives those owners who want an extra pair of experienced eyes on their yacht, especially during the “off-season”. My clients are getting added peace-of-mind knowing that their yacht is cared for all winter.

Captain Tom’s Qualification

I hold a current USCG Merchant Mariner certification as a 100 Ton Master. I am a certified instructor for the Recreational Power Boat Association (RPBA). For the past 13 years have taught safe operation for power yachts (35ft to 65ft LOA), instructed new boat owners on close quarter maneuvering, navigation, boat systems operation, and emergency procedures. For the past 5 years I have been a principal instructor/captain for Anacortes Yacht Charters (AYC), training yacht charter customers on their charter vessels. Have also delivered vessels to Canada or up from Seattle.

Service Provided- once a month

  • Check oil level in the engine(s) and generator
  • Run engine(s) and generator until proper temp and pressure are reached
    • Running engine(s) and generator each month are recommended for lubrication purposes. Due to the design of (most) marine engine exhaust systems, salt air circulates around valves and cylinders. Running the engine(s) keeps rust and corrosion from building up in those areas
  • Run bow/stern thruster if installed

Storm Watch- as needed

If severe weather is forecast, your yacht will be checked for the integrity of dock lines, fenders, and covers/wraps.

Monthly Price

The price for the above services is $150 per month. Payment for first three months ($450) and then $150 for each month thereafter.

Maintenance or Repair Assistance

If your vessel needs servicing, I can recommend professional companies you can contact. I do not provide such services.
